Today I’ve been thinking about what I’ve just dubbed the “Relaxed Midi Skirt” for lack of knowing it’s official term. A knee-length number that’s not a bodycon/full/pleated/sheath skirt – not too structured nor loose, not too tight nor flared. Kind of A-line but with a little more oomph, where the fabric just hangs nonchalantly off the smallest part of your waist.
I’ve been struggling to find pants that suit me, so I tend to go for a flowy mid-thigh length dress or my uniform of an A-line mini skirt. But of course, there are days where its too cold to wear these or I just can’t be bothered shaving my whole two legs. That’s where the relaxed midi skirt comes in; I’ve just realised how it would really suit my frame, my style, and is so easy to wear! It also makes the perfect wardrobe element for trans-seasonal dressing.
Taking cues from my favourite It-Girls and favourite shop, here are some things I’d pair with my relaxed midi skirt once I get my hands on one:
- A regular fit slogan t-shirt
- A pullover
- A cropped going-out top
- A fitted long sleeved t-shirt
- An oversized t-shirt
- A buttoned up cardigan sans anything underneath (a new styling trick I’ve just discovered and can’t wait to try!)
And now for the creme-de-la-creme of relaxed midi skirts that I wish would magically appear in my closet when I wake up tomorrow morning:
